Prayer for Overcoming Social Media Censorship

image_pdfimage_print

We call to Hildegard of Bingen, who sang truth into the world despite great efforts to suppress her voice. We call to Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, and to Hypatia of Alexandria. We call to Artemisia Gentileschi, for you all know what it is to be silenced, canceled, and erased—and yet you are still here with us, remembered. The legacy of your lives on the earth plane gained us this certainty:   Interference with free speech is a dark and unsustainable paradigm, and it has ultimately failed in every age in which it has been tried.

Ancestral Mothers, Guides, and Guardians of Truth—we ask for your iron-willed strength and your warrior energies as we come face to face with a modern form of censuring. We have tried all earthly methods to overcome the suppression of our voices.  Our attempts to break the barriers placed upon us by Meta have failed, and so we call to you this night for intervention and help.

What was once done with fire and priests is now done with algorithms and gates. The method has changed. The misogyny has not.

Be with us, dear Great Ones—Hildegard, Sor Juana, Hypatia, and Artemisia. Hear us. Render your assistance to clear the blockage on — and stop the meddling by — these platforms. Make your great powers available to us to put medicine on this wound that is harming so many and greatly manipulating the public discourse.  With your help, we can –- together—break these artificial barriers.

Like you, O Great Ones, we carry knowledge, and like you, we must share it. This winter solstice, we ask that you release us from the shackles of the shadow-bans.  We honor you, and we affirm that we continue to bask in the blessings of the work you did before us.
