Top 6 CBD Soap Benefits

image_pdfimage_print

If you have been following us since the beginning, you will know that it is only in the past year that we have begun to discuss dosage information and benefits of CBD, as ‘making medical claims’ is the number one reason the government will shut someone down in our business.  It’s the number one reason the post office can deny service.

If you have been following us since the beginning, you will know that we are very cautious when we approach the subject.  And for a long time, we avoided the whole subject by saying ‘it’s all very old, but very new, and it’s all very safe, so you experiment and tell us what your dosage is, tell us what you use it for.”

CBD has gone rather mainstream, now, and for that reason, we are less shy about sharing what we know.

I mentioned in one of my previous posts how we started making CBD salves to treat pain.

It was absolutely bothersome to me that people who have dealt with chronic pain and who don’t smoke had to resort to smoking to get some relief. It also worried me how easily they could leave a joint lying around which could potentially catch fire.

That’s the very reason I started making tinctures, and after them came the salves, which made it easier for people to treat direct pain with something that they could simply rub onto the skin.

For a long time, the Sisters have made and used CBD soap and for awhile, we had them in the store for our customers.  We ran out during the second summer of Covid and at that time, Sister Kass, our lead soapmaker, bought her own house nearby the abbey and moved from a small rental house to a home of her own, for her and her small children.  And that home needed lots of renovations, so for the past six months, our CBD soap-maker has been too busy to work the soaps.

Things have settled in Sister Kass’ world and she is back to making our soaps and sprays in her own home kitchen.  We are happy to announce they are back on the store shelves!

CBD soap is a wonderful alternative to nurturing the skin without the oil of the salve.  It can be used multiple times a day, without causing dryness, as the CBD compound nourishes the skin.

What doesn’t CBD soap do?  What does it do?  What are the benefits?

It Doesn’t Get You High

Many people wake up and go to sleep each day with very misaligned beliefs about CBD and hemp.  Many people are still afraid of getting ‘high’ just from putting on the salve!

The fact of the matter is that it will not have that kind of effect and there is a simple reason for it. The hemp plant used to make the CBD products has been bred to contain only trace amounts of THC.  You don’t really want all the THC out, as it works together with the CBD for healing.  However, any plant that registers at less than .3% THC (read this ‘point three percent’), is considered to be hemp.  You need at least ten times that much THC to register any psychotropic effect, or to register on a drug test.  Our products are all tested at .2% or under, compliant with UN standards.

CBD is an Anti-Inflammatory

One of the reasons why we started working with CBD products was primarily for their anti-inflammatory qualities.  We saw people around struggling with joint pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and osteoporosis, which are all spurred on by inflammation.

One way to tackle this in a natural and easy way is with a high-quality CBD soap.

In fact, one of my friends rolled her ankle a few weeks ago and tore some of the ligaments in her foot. It was absolutely swollen and purple with the trademark tiger stripe bruises appearing a few days after the incident.

She started using a CBD soap to rub over the area, we all know how sensitive inflamed areas are, and within a few days, the swelling had reduced and it healed right up in under a month.

The problem, I found, with inflammation, is that at the best of times, it is actually too sensitive and painful to touch. So, as much as some of the salves are great to rub on to an affected area, you sometimes need something that is a bit gentler to your skin.

Especially if there is an open wound that is causing the inflammation.

The soaps not only have these great anti-inflammatory properties, but they also help clean the area and are incredibly gentle to the skin.

CBD Alleviates Pain

Sometimes people forget to put their topical salve on in the morning.  Including the soap in a daily regime helps pump some of those healing compounds into the system, while doing a cleansing ritual you would do anyway.

The Soap Combats Skin Issues

CBD soap benefits you in more ways than you’d imagine. It is great for the skin and can be applied directly to the face. I love the salve as a localized treatment solution, but especially with skin problems, the coconut oil base will block the pores and must be used very sparingly.

The soaps are much lighter and form a lather for you to wash the daily grit and grime off the face and clear those pores. With the anti-inflammatory and healing properties, it will then start tackling those problem zones, and start reducing the swelling and angry infected pores.

These soaps are also great for eczema, especially if you have started battling it all over the body. You can lather it up on your loofah and apply it all over your body, focusing on those really painful, tender areas that feel dry and uncomfortable.

Just keep in mind that this isn’t a replacement for any medications or products that you are currently using so don’t stop applying them – especially without consulting with your doctor first. These soaps are a great additional product to add to your daily routine, but I don’t want you to think that it is the sole holy grail of healing.

It Helps With Insomnia and Sleeplessness

Sleep is crucial for healing, restoration, and even burning calories, so if you are not getting enough sleep and rest, especially if you are fighting a disease, your rate of healing is rapidly reduced.

CBD soaps are a great solution to this. I highly recommend drawing a bath before bed and using the soap to start relaxing your mind and body into a state of rest.

Remember, your circadian cycle is what controls your wakefulness and sleep, so it is important to combine these restful baths with a scheduled daily routine, healthy eating habits, and resting time that will ensure you get at least eight hours.

It Drops Your Stress Levels

The world is full of stress. The Sisters are seeing more and more people battling with anxiety, depression, and mental illness than ever before.

Whether it is stress associated with the impacts of COVID-19 or day-to-day life, it is a growing concern how common unhealthy amounts of stress are.

The problem is, when you get stressed, your body releases cortisol. This puts your body in fight or flight mode. So, prolonged periods of stress can actually be incredibly damaging to your brain and your body. This flood of cortisol to your body lowers your immune system and makes it more and more difficult to fight infections.

There have been a number of studies done on the impact of CBD and stress, and so far, most of them are showing that CBD does have an impact on reducing stress levels.

I’ve also seen some great reviews and had some great feedback on our other CBD products from people saying that they have really reduced their anxiety.

What I particularly like about the soap is that you can use it in the morning, before your stressful day, or as I said, at night before you go to bed.

Combine it with meditation, some sound therapy, and a healthy diet, and you should start seeing a difference in a matter of time.

Keep in mind though, you should not be replacing any of your current medications or protocols with CBD soap. And please, make sure that you keep communication open with your doctor when treating any ailment.

The Sisters are dedicated to creating and producing high-quality healing products, but they should be used as an addition to your treatments.
