In an era where conscious living and ethical choices take center stage, the surge in popularity of veganism is undeniable. Being vegan goes beyond dietary preferences; it’s a lifestyle rooted in compassion for animals and a commitment to minimizing one’s environmental impact.

According to Gallup, approximately 5% of American adults are either vegetarian or vegan.  The vegetarians outnumber the vegans 4 to 1.  And thought the overall percentage of Americans ‘off the meat’ seems small at 5%, that’s likely to be double what it was twenty-five years ago.  And vegan consciousness is on the rise, even if the majority of the public doesn’t practice it strictly or claim the title of ‘vegetarian’ or ‘vegan’.   Even the meat-eaters care, now, that they aren’t getting slaughter in everything – for example, gelcap casings.

Embracing vegetarian values extends to every facet of our lives, including our wellness choices. As we journey through the world of plant-based living, there’s an ever-growing demand for products that align with our values. This guide will explore the intersection of veganism and the Sisters’ line of wellness products, focusing on an array of vegan CBD products and the mushroom coffee, for the health benefits gained by those who walk the compassionate path.

Vegan CBD Oil Drops

One of the most sought-after forms of CBD products, vegan CBD oil drops are designed with both wellness and ethical considerations in mind. Available in various potencies, these products all use liquid coconut oil as their base, and all of the drops are flavored with blood orange essential oil, except for the pet oil, that has no flavoring.  All are free from animal-derived ingredients:

CBD Oil for People Pain

With options such as 500 mg, 1,000 mg, or even 3,000 mg of CBD per 2-ounce bottle, you can tailor your CBD experience to your needs without compromising your vegan principles.

CBD Plus Oil

For most people, a one-half tsp dose is the standard or starting dose.  ½ teaspoon = 1 serving = 2.5 ml.  Based on the average of all tests done in the past six months, each serving contains ~16 mg of CBGa, ~12 mg of CBD, ~10 mg of CBDa, and 4 mg of CBG.  The marriage of CBD and veganism finds its expression in CBD Plus oil, a product that not only incorporates the benefits of CBD but also includes the raw compounds of the cannabis plant. Available in one-ounce or two-ounce bottles, both with a vegan-friendly liquid coconut oil base, this formula is for health resilience, to boost immunity and ward off disease and infection.

CBD Oil Drops for Pets

For pet owners who are also passionate about extending their vegan lifestyle to their furry companions, the CBD oil drops for pets are thoughtfully formulated with a blend of CBD compounds and a liquid coconut oil base.  No essential oils are added.  Calculating the dosage of your pet is based on the size of the pet.  If  the standard adult dosage is ½ tsp, then the starting does for the pet would be based on the percentage of weight that pet has in comparison to a normal adult.  If the pet weighs ten pounds, for example, and a normal dose is for a person weighing 150 pounds, then the pet should get 1/15th of the dosage given to a human as a starting dose. Whether it is people or pets, when new medicine is introduced, it should be introduced slowly in small amounts to ensure there is no allergic reaction or odd sensitivities to the medicine.

Vegan CBD Tincture

Tinctures, by their nature, are vegan.  Alcohol and plant are the only ingredients.
People often think that anything with a dropper is a tincture.  It’s not.  A tincture is a tincture because it uses alcohol to extract the medicine from the plant.  If the base of the drops is alcohol, it’s a tincture.  Some people extract CBD with alcohol and then add the extraction to oil.  The end product, in this case, is not a tincture.

In the case of the Sisters’ tincture, the CBD is extracted into highly potent alcohol (150 proof) and delivers 500 mg of CBD in a 2-ounce bottle. This alcohol-based form of taking the medicine is best for dealing with immediate relief requirements, such as seizures or panic attacks, and are used because the bitter taste of the alcohol makes absorption immediate, like taking a bitter herb.

Vegan CBD Gelcaps

For those who prefer the convenience of capsules, vegan CBD gelcaps are a great choice. They come in three different types: CBN for sleep, CBD for pain relief, and CBD Plus for overall health resilience. These vegan capsules provide an easy and precise way to incorporate CBD into your daily routine.  Each gelcap has approximately 30 mg of medicine, but the compound construction varies.  CBN gelcaps, for example, have approx. 15 mg of CBD and 10 mg of CBN and 5 mg of other compounds formulated for sleep.  CBD gelcaps are mainly CBD, with only a small percentage of the other compounds, formulated for pain relief.

The CBD Plus incorporates the raw compounds and is formulated for reducing pain and improving resilience to sickness.  Gelcaps are not naturally vegan.

The Sisters worked with their lab in Colorado during the pandemic to phase out those old bovine casings in place of newly developed vegetable-based casings.

Vegan Mushroom Coffee:

The Sisters’ mushroom coffee has no CBD or any of the compounds from the hemp plant.  The mushroom coffee contains these ingredients and is naturally vegan:  cocoa, black tea, reishi, lion’s mane, cordyceps, turkey tail, chaga, shitake, ashwagandha, turmeric, Himalayan salt, ginger root, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, black pepper.
The mushroom coffee, which actually has no coffee bean coffee in it, was developed for mood-stabilization and brain clarity.  The Sisters make the mushroom blend available in a ten-ounce tin, a 20-ounce pouch, or individual serving packets.  Mushroom blended drinks are normally, naturally vegan, and the Sisters’ Super 17 blend has 1/3 the caffeine of a cup of coffee bean coffee.
