Appreciation of the Blessing of the Pets – A Portland, Oregon, Gathering

image_pdfimage_print

The Sisters of the Valley are bringing their tradition of gathering for appreciation of the pets as healers in our lives, which will be performed for the first time in Oregon at the Personal Beast on Stark Street in Portland, on Saturday, November 14, 2026.

The sisters invite pet lovers and their furry companions to join them for a free morning of community, education, and celebration.  The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at Personal Beast, 8119 SE Stark Street, Portland, Oregon, as part of the Sisters’ November visit to Oregon to celebrate the launch of their new cannabis flower and pre-roll collection.

For the Sisters, blessing animals is a natural extension of their commitment to honoring the earth, protecting living creatures, and recognizing the sacred connections between humans, animals, and nature.

A Blessing for Our Faithful Companions

Animals have always been part of life at the Sisters of the Valley farm in California.  This year, the hemp crop was healthier than ever and they attribute it to the ducks and chickens who kept the mites and spiders away.   The Sisters very livelihood depends on the cooperation of the farm animals.

From the dogs who play security to the cats who keep the mice population down, the Sisters believe that an appreciation ceremony is in order and have been doing so every fall on the farm in California.  The Portland gathering extends the community.

Pet owners are invited to bring their beloved companions to receive the appreciation of the people, enjoy photographs together, and spend time with others who share their love of animals.  The event is open to the public and free to attend.

Cannabis Education for Pet Owners

The morning will also offer an opportunity for pet owners to learn more about CBD and animals.

An important feature of the gathering is the opportunity to ask a veterinarian questions about CBD, helping pet owners better understand the questions surrounding cannabis-derived products and animal wellness.

The Sisters have long advocated for education, responsible use, and informed decision-making when it comes to plant-based wellness.

While the Sisters will not be offering veterinary diagnoses or treatment recommendations, they welcome the opportunity to encourage thoughtful conversations between pet owners and veterinary professionals.

From California to Oregon: Growing a Community

The Portland pet blessing is one of several events planned during the Sisters’ November visit to Oregon.  The trip celebrates the introduction of the Sisters of the Valley’s Oregon cannabis collection, featuring three varieties: Sacred Grove, First Fire, and Returning Light.

More importantly, the trip is about building relationships, meeting the people who have supported their mission, and bringing the traditions of the Sisterhood into new communities.  The pet blessing offers an opportunity to do exactly that.
